How to Customize Thesis WordPress Theme Using FTP

Before starting with this guide, you need to get any free FTP client software like FileZilla. Download and Install in it on your work space, check above screenshot.

Now, you need to login into FTP account of your hosting.

After logging in, navigate to public_html folder > your blog > wp-Content Folder.

If you open wp-content folder, then you can find themes folder inside it.

Open Themes Folder and look for Thesis Theme directory.

Immediately after opening it, you can find custom folder.

This custom folder includes two files names as custom.css and custom_functions.php which are to be edited. Before going to that step, check this article and know how to rename custom-sample folder to custom folder.

Right click on any of the custom.css or custom_functions file and you can see View?Edit option in the context menu. Just click on it and the file will be opened in the default editor in your PC or Laptop.

Tips to Customize Thesis WordPress Theme Using FTP

We recommend to use Notepad++ so that it will be easy for you to add or edit code in those files. After done with editing, simple save the file and FTP client will upload it back to the server.

If you notice any error or the code is not properly working you can revert back the old design by undoing (Ctrl + Z) the changes in the custom file.
